I don't know about a top ten list. I'm sure that I would forget some masterpiece as soon as I hit "Submit Reply". I like most of your list, but could probably offer alternatives by the bands you've listed that are equally good, at least in my mind:

Velvet Underground: Loaded
Led Zeppelin: Physical Graffiti
Miles Davis: Bitches Brew
Bob Dylan: Blood on the Tracks
Beatles: Abbey Road
Rolling Stones: Exile on Main Street
U2: Achtung, Baby

Other albums to consider, that I can currently recall:

Lou Reed: New York
Liz Phair: Exile in Guyville
Nirvana: Nevermind
Rage Against the Machine: Rage Against the Machine
Beastie Boys: Paul's Boutique
Guns & Roses: Appetite for Destruction
Iggy & the Stooges: Raw Power
Morphine: Yes
Neil Young: Greendale
Tool: AEnima
White Stripes: Elephant

I suppose the GD studio album that is closest to contending would be Workingman's Dead...

Can't say I've listened to Machine Head back to front and have only listened to sporadic T. Rex. More likely to check out Deep Purple.
